Dual Registered Manager

We are recruiting a Dual Registered Manager to lead a two children’s residential home in Colchester, ensuring high-quality care, positive outcomes for young people, and a supportive environment where both children and staff can thrive. 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Oversee the full operational management of the home in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted standards 
  • Lead on care planning, safeguarding, staffing, quality assurance, and home development 
  • Ensure the children receive high-quality, person-centred care tailored to their individual needs and developmental goals 
  • Build a positive, professional culture—mentoring, motivating, and developing staff to deliver consistent, trauma-informed care 
  • Act as a strong advocate for the young people and represent the service in professional networks, regulatory inspections, and multi-agency settings 
  • Take responsibility for the home’s financial and administrative performance, ensuring sustainability and growth 

What We’re Looking For: 

We’re seeking a strong, experienced leader who is committed to making a difference in the lives of children with EBD. 

Essential Requirements: 

  • Experience as a Registered Manager managing a children’s residential home for 2 years 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage compliance, inspections, and quality standards in line with Ofsted 
  • Proven experience in managing staff teams and supporting their development 
  • Confident in safeguarding, care planning, and working with multi-agency professionals 
  • Budgeting, rota management, and risk management experience 
  • Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills 
  • Current Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards) 
  • Proficient with digital care systems and Microsoft Office Suite
