We are recruiting a Dual Registered Manager to lead a two children’s residential home in Colchester, ensuring high-quality care, positive outcomes for young people, and a supportive environment where both children and staff can thrive.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Oversee the full operational management of the home in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted standards
- Lead on care planning, safeguarding, staffing, quality assurance, and home development
- Ensure the children receive high-quality, person-centred care tailored to their individual needs and developmental goals
- Build a positive, professional culture—mentoring, motivating, and developing staff to deliver consistent, trauma-informed care
- Act as a strong advocate for the young people and represent the service in professional networks, regulatory inspections, and multi-agency settings
- Take responsibility for the home’s financial and administrative performance, ensuring sustainability and growth
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a strong, experienced leader who is committed to making a difference in the lives of children with EBD.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience as a Registered Manager managing a children’s residential home for 2 years
- Demonstrated ability to manage compliance, inspections, and quality standards in line with Ofsted
- Proven experience in managing staff teams and supporting their development
- Confident in safeguarding, care planning, and working with multi-agency professionals
- Budgeting, rota management, and risk management experience
- Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills
- Current Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Proficient with digital care systems and Microsoft Office Suite
