EMBRACING EVERY JOURNEY

OUR ETHOS

We believe that each and every child is entitled to the right to learn and master the skills required for a successful transition into independence, regardless of the type of community they are from and challenges they face.

Our support responds appropriately to the young person’s changing needs and at our core, we have the consistency to build the relationship with the young person on the foundations of trust.

We aim to build:

  • Positive structure and organisation.
  • Stability, boundaries, routine, and resilience.
  • A person-centred approach where the needs and views of the young people
  • are at the centre of all practices and provisions.
  • Mutual respect, encompassing individuality and diversity which are celebrated
  • and valued.
  • Ensuring the welfare and safeguarding of each young person.
  • Caring, nurturing and inclusive environment and home.
  • Active participation in all aspects of life.

Services we provide:

Admissions:

Admissions will usually be on a planned basis, to make sure the individual needs of all the young people are met. It is important that the admission process is governed by the needs of the young person. For some young people, a swifter move is less anxiety-provoking for them.

The welfare of the child/young person is paramount and SV Care Services, together with the placing authority, has a duty to act in a way that

safeguards and promotes the health, safety and well-being of the children and young people.

To make it as stress-free as possible, an admission meeting will be planned within the service, which will include the young person and their family, their social worker, and representatives from SV Care Services.

The management team will assess the child’s level of the child’s current presenting behaviours on referral whilst assessing their suitability for our services. Whilst considering any new referral, the impact of that referral on the existing children is deeply considered, we do not want to destabilize the lives of existing children.

SV Care Services will work in partnership with the child/young person (as far as is practicable, given their age and understanding), their parent(s), and those with parental responsibility.

Children/young people, their parents(s) and those with parental responsibility should be actively involved in decisions that are reached, and their views must be considered.

Every Looked After Child/young person will have a Care Plan, which is reviewed regularly.

The placing authority and SV Care Services have a duty to promote contact betweenthe child/young person and those connected with him/her.

All referrals for admission must be made by the young person’s social worker andplacing authority to our directors or, our Responsible Individual.

The decision to accept a referral can only be made by the Registered Manager and the directors.

This decision is made using information contained in the Referral Request Form,
pre- placements assessment visits and the identified needs within the child’s care plan.
